Joshua Pennington has lived in District 33 for most of his life. As a child he grew up in Bowers where his family has served as part of the Bowers Volunteer Fire Company for several years, and himself served as a cadet in the company during his youth. In his later years he moved to Harrington and began working, so that he could explore different vocational opportunities. His proffesional experience includes work with Dover ILC, Child Nutritional Work for the Caesar Rodney School District, and several other vocations. He is an alumni of Lake Forest High School where he graduated in 2015.

 

Joshua later moved back to the district, first in Frederica and then to Magnolia, where he now resides with James, his husband. Joshua's passions for community and helping others led him into non-profit work, which he has done for the past several years working with and advocating for individuals with disabilities. Joshua is proud to have come from a working class background, and a family dedicated to service and hard-work. His mother served generations of students as a bus driver. His father, served in the Bowers Volunteer Fire Company, and worked as a sand plant operator in Dover before becoming a loader-operator. Other's in Joshua's family are still involved with the work volunteer fire companies provide to our district, as well as in local schools. It is for these experiences that Joshua not only understands the needs of public servants and First Responders here in the 33rd District, but recognizes the kind of leadership our community needs.

 

Joshua is seeking to become the Representative of the 33rd District so that he may be a voice for all, especially the hardworking families who live here and make our district a wonderful place to live. He aims to advocate for those in need of more recognition and representation at the legislative level. Moreover, Joshua believes that a representative needs to be someone who will work for everyone, no matter their party affiliations or background. He will be an advocate for working across the aisle, listen to voter concerns, and work to find solutions that benefit everyone. A vote for Joshua is not just a vote for a single candidate. It is a vote for yourself, your neighbor, and your community. Together, Joshua we can work to bring the 33rd District to a brighter future.
